Apparently a similar thing has worked well in korea.

I'd be cautious about using it myself but if you have a smart phone surely whoever wants to track you can anyway if they are that desperate to do so.

I think it's a good idea personally. they probably have this info on most of us anyway for their ads targeting to work. May aswell use it for something useful

Probably the ones most likely to use this app are the ones who are not moving because they believe the Government (not a criticism) whereas those more skeptical about social distancing would also have their own theories (not saying they are wrong) about this app.
