Like most bands they should have split after the first couple of records. Joke compared to what they were and Bono is the biggest chunt on the planet.

Seen them at the old national stadium (arms park) around 1987 and they were very good back then. One of the best concerts I've been to.

Edge- not the greatest guitarist in the world. But every time he plays, he makes it sing. Lifelong fan, but disliked them in the 90s. Good again now, i think.

saw them for 1 time only at wembley back in 1987
after that i lost interest
the edge has a very distingtive guitar sound tho pre 1987 . very underated in the scheme of guitar players
did like a version with green day of a cover song after that U2 has slipped off the radar in my household .

I've never liked them. Most overrated band of all time.

Yup, I was there.
aye me too
the edge booted a rugby ball into the crowed or at least tried to ..it went about ten yards to exit stage left
silencers and pretenders supporting
And The Alarm played before the Pretenders and blew them off the stage. At the end of the set the Pretenders showed their arses to the crowd in response to the lack of enjoyment at their set.

Probably my favouriter band of all time along with The Beatles.
Saw them at the Millenium in 2005 - best gig I've ever been to.
Their 80's stuff was awesome, as was their early 90's stuff (Achtung Baby), but the rest of the 90's was a mess.

Haha! Liked that. Edge uses delay almost all of the time, but I really can't fault the way it sounds. He's a composer and singer, as well as a guitarist.
Once again, Bill Bailey is very good.
