Yep, its weird.
Just read that piece now and the only conclusion is that they are almost beaten before kick off due to what they seem to expect from a Warnock team.
Once beaten they carry on with that dialogue, physicality, weak ref, time wasting.

We're not playing Russel slade football here are we, football is all about being able to switch things up, use different tactics, there isn't one single way to play football like this lot bleat on about. We're in the championship..better teams than Cardiff use similar tactics where they press teams all over the pitch.
