6 played 5 points Saints
5 played 5 points Fulham

3 played 2 points Geordie Bastards
4 played 2 points City
It's very early days. Neil Warnock will be explaining this stuff to the players.
We should have beaten Burnley ...... Sadly luck left us astray that day.
Check where we would be if that result had reversed.
We have after the Anfield game 9 games in a row that we ALL think we can win.
Keep the faith. Support the boys.
Beat Fulham 1-0 and we will be above the million pound spenders and likely outside the bottom three.
Poor Sean Morrison how many times has he so nearly scored this season.
Thank you for a post with a bit of perspective. I still expect you'll get a load of shit for this post from the resident miserable bastards on this board
Re: Why we are doing okay!
Penarth I know it's coming but I can take it.
Strangely I really think this is the only real way to assess things.
We are bottom YES.
But it's not that simple.
If we are looking okay after the Man U game halfway point all is good.
It is then that a really true table will appear.
Re: Why we are doing okay!
I'm not a doom and gloom merchant but...
Cherry picked results where we're still bottom, a "what-if" result and an optimistic prediction.
Surely we have more positives than this?

Looking at that table, and the start Bournemouth have had, then it's not too far a stretch to say that we were competitive in all 3 games we could have expected to be at the races in (Newcastle, Hudds and Burnley) and we're unlucky not to have at least one more point to show from those games - if not 3.
I also think Arsenal were lucky at CCS and we should have had a point or more from that game.
Nothing so far this season has surprised me. I was expecting the side to find it tough to mentally believe they were good enough. I actually think they are starting to understand they are actually capable of competing, and in Murphy, Camarasa, Arter and Paterson I think we have 4 outfield players who'll only get better as they play together more.
We just need the defence to get back to not worrying so much about the hype surrounding some of the players they're up against and just start doing the basics right again.

Good man.
I agree about our four gelling.
Our goals against is only 4 in the four games against non big 6.
Our defenders are doing okay.
We need a little luck in front of goal. We have had none at all.
I am still annoyed that we didn’t get that penalty v Burnley. His hand was in the heavens.
Re: Why we are doing okay!
I'm looking forward to your post after the 38th game ... Why we are not doing okay!
Re: Why we are doing okay!
If i am wrong I will accept it at Xmas
All I am saying is its hardly as gloomy as many seem to think.
Fulham should be worried.
Re: Why we are doing okay!
So you've now gone from judging teams against the big 6 which was an obvious failure to now judging by the non big 6

With Bournemouth's bright start we have played 5 sides from top 6 on current form out our 8 games. However, Arsenal, Spurs and probably Chelsea won't be ripe for the taking again as they were when we played them. We might have greater opportunities up ahead of us but haven't been able to take those presented as of yet.

Yes, he can't produce a table, whether a real or virtual one, that City doesn't flounder at the very foot of and yet he remains grimly optimistic based entirely on what he believes should have been the result versus Burnley.
He's either having us on or he's off his fecking rocker!

I agree he has a screw loose (it's not Dai Hunt is it?) But where I do agree that we can get a little positive is that we have been competetive in all the games except Man City. With a bit better finishing we would have beaten Newcastle, Huddersfield, and should have beaten Burnley who we outplayed.
Hopefully we are now starting to find our feet in the Premier but we CANNOT afford to lose v Fulham and we must start winning a few home games before Xmas.
In my view, there is not a lot to fear from the teams in the bottom half of the table. We now need to find that goal scoring touch.

Is it really positive that we should've beaten Newcastle (should've beaten us with a last minute penalty), Huddersfield (down to ten men for 30 mins or more) and Burnley (2 chances 2 goals)
