Aston Villa 0 - 0 Middlesbrough. Villa win 1-0 on agg
all full of trepidation and lack of belief. Convinced that even if they beat 'Boro then they'll lose to Fulham.
Great entertainment, I know they're some of my best mates but it's great to have promotion in the bank and watch others full of fear!
(C'mon Boro!)

I'd love to see Villa fail.

Re: Amusing watching the Villans
It's always more entertaining to watch someone fail if they've got ideas well above their station.
Fulham and Middlesbrough would just appreciate their time in the Premier League but Villa still think they should be challenging for Europe.

They're crapping themselves. They see it as their last chance to get promoted with this group / manager / funding. They think that if they miss out this time they'll have to have a clear out and will be in the Championship for years to come!
It's interesting that they think it could be the 1st year ever without a "Birmingham" side in the top division as either they, West Brom or the Blues have been in the top flight since the FL started

I think Birmingham City could be the surprise package next season.
Villa need promotion this time around or its going to be tough due to FFP rules.
A few of their players will want away if not.

Re: Amusing watching the Villans
Yes, the feeling of self entitlement grates and if they do make the p/o final, I shall be in Fulham's corner.
Not sure I could stomach watching Grealish diving every challenge in the premiership.
Snodgrass another who simply falls over if he feels contact.
Whilst I hate watching these players 'play' the referee in this way, we do need to be a bit more streetwise up in the 'big league' as players do.tend to be protected a lot more.

1987/88?
Birmingham, Villa and WBA all Division 2.
Villa were promoted at the end of that season behind Wolves. Middlesbrough up via the play offs.
Wolves that year won Div 4 in the 87/88 season, Cardiff were promoted in 2nd place.

Indeed.
Gary Monk could well be the man to take them down to league one.

He does seem a Warnock kind of player. Think I'd want McClean first, he couldn't be anymore of a Warnock player if he tried.

Was just going to post similar.
Highly frustrating watching him, he has so much talent but his constant play in anticipating contact and dropping to the floor is embarrassing

For a side needing a goal Boro were terrible.
In hindsight that was a load of shite from them.
Give it your all and go down fighting, not wimp out to defeat.
