Sheffield linesman at Hillsbrough on Saturday
Football League appoint a linesman from SHEFFIELD for Cardiff City's play-off crunch with Sheffield Wednesday
Football League bosses have appointed an official from Sheffield for Cardiff City’s huge play-off chasing showdown with Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
James Bell, who comes from the steel city, will be one of the assistant referees running the line for match-day man in the middle Paul Tierney, who comes from Lancashire.
Bell is one of the rising officials in the game and there is no questioning his integrity or impartiality.
However, the fact that someone from Sheffield itself will have such a key role to play in the Hillsborough clash will raise eyebrows amongst many Bluebirds fans.
The match has been dubbed Cardiff’s ‘cup final’ by manager Russell Slade and is the most significant fixture the Bluebirds have been involved in since a Premier League relegation six-pointer at Sunderland two years ago.

Of all the linesmen they could've selected...that's ridiculous

Stupid isn't it. It just leaves them open to allegations of bias.

Or a Leeds lino
Would refuse to make decisions until there was at least 40,000 in attendance :hehe:
Re: Sheffield linesman at Hillsbrough on Saturday
The Sheffield-based linesman has been stood down by the League and replaced by a linesman from Worcestershire.

Have you noticed there are no Welsh officials in the prem or FL?
They have to remain under the control of the FAW, so will never progress to a proper game. :coat:
