"Fans are getting excited ahead of the show
Sisters Sharron Weeks, 42, and Lynda Harrison, 46, from Risca were bought tickets as Christmas presents from their parents.
Sharron said: “This is the first concert I have ever been to in my life and they are my favourite band. I really don’t like any other bands just them. "

Christ, their parents must have really hated them to have spent over forty years plotting to damage them like this...

They're mainstream yes but they're a great band. They're not music by numbers like most pop bands these days

This is true but for some reason i dislike them immensely.
Perhaps it's he with the nasally droning voice with zero personality
They must be doing something right.

Re: Coldplay tonight - Mill Stad keeping roof open
They're....ok. Nothing special at all but have some passable songs.
Why did they want the roof open? At one point it was closed all afternoon and then to be open for the concert to be rained on.

Re: Coldplay tonight - Mill Stad keeping roof open
First album was alright at the time IMO.
Not enjoyed much by them since.
Their stuff seems very formulaic and so I imagine that makes them an easy band for some to like, without much effort, and thus for those same reasons, for others to dislike.

Not my thing but Chris Martin has written some cracking songs over the years. Deserved success but very very easy listening pop, which is fine.

He's written one song and produced it about 75 times

First song I remember was Yellow, and I quite liked it, but they've been on repeat for the last 15 years.

As a songwriter, he is good. Lyrics are normally a bit cliche (not Noel standard, mind) but he knows how to write a melody.
Poor singer though, his bit in the Band Aid song always make me laugh when I hear it.

Clocks and Speed Of Sound are based on exactly the same thing, though.

I thought they were good when they first came out. However, I'll be the first to admit I got that one wrong.
Pretentious, sappy nonsense.
And what's with the ****ing stupid clothes?

Quite right, I don't think there's any one about at the moment who is as good as Noel Coward
