How we are going to stay up
Beat a disinterested palace 3-0. Draw 1-1 at old Trafford.
Brighton lose 5-0 at arsenal and 6-0 to man city and we stay up on goals scored (identical goal difference but having scored 1 more goal).

The odds on this would be insane

Unless Huddersfield get something from Man United I think we're stuffed.

Because if they stuff Huddersfield they go into our game with the mindset they could finish above Chelsea on goal difference.

Re: How we are going to stay up
I think Brighton may well lose their last two games but by parking the bus even the good teams would find it hard to rattle up such scores. I pray and hope I'm wrong.

I can see Brighton getting a draw at Arsenal to close this conversation.
Arsenal are not good and Houston has got the mindset at Brighton that they put 11 men behind the ball after 4-5 minutes and stay that way until the end.
I am sure they will remain this season but will be certs for relegation next season.
Their tactics are woeful and I feel sorry for the paying fans.

We’ll have a problem.

Laughable to think we’d get a penalty against anybody, never mind a penalty at Old Trafford in the last minute.

If they draw doesn't really change anything as be 5 clear, we'd still need to win both games due to GD

Re: How we are going to stay up
The only way Cardiff will stay up is, palace fans want their team to lose on Saturday, so a win is possible, man united could be as crap as they were against Brighton back in August, Brighton deserve to go down

TBH I've been reading what the Palace fans have had to say on their forum ...... Looks like the majority will be cheering for Cardiff this weekend :hehe::hehe:

Re: How we are going to stay up
We can only play one game at a time and we have to win against Palace.
That's it.
Theres no point in thinking about the game after that.
We also have to hope that somehow Brighton doesn't win against Arsenal. They can play for a 0-0 draw all they like and if they achieve that it's highly unlikely to impact on us. 4 or 5 points ahead is immaterial, when we know we have to win both games.
But first let's just enjoy the ride on Saturday and win it.
Who would have thought that we would still be in with a shout with two games left.
With much better game plans that are well executed against Palace and with a bit of luck, then it might go down to the final game.

Brighton might as well go for the win. As you say, a draw is as good as a defeat for them. But I wonder what “going for a win” will look like. Defend for 85 mins and go at them for the last few mins?
