Yesterdays plane crash was City fans on way to Old Trafford
Re: Yesterdays plane crash was City fans on way to Old Trafford
Were they City fans or Man U fans? Doesn’t say which team they were supporting

The photo of the chap on the right is of him outside Old Trafford. I'd guess they are Man Utd fans.

I think so too. Great that they are all safe. You have to ask the question - why would anyone feel the need to fly from Abergavenny to Manchester, other than for some ego trip? It's not that long on a Sunday by car, surely?

That is a bit harsh. Maybe it's quicker? Maybe it was a nice day and they wanted to fly? Maybe a special occasion? Maybe that is how they get to all of their games? Maybe they needed flying hours or whatever? Maybe they hate driving? I can think of a multitude of reasons that are not "look at me". Honestly - if I could fly from London to Cardiff, I would.

I don't think they were expecting to make the papers.

they stopped that scheduled flight a few years ago. I never took it but was gutted to see it had been canceled when I tried to book it to get back for the Palace game. Instead I got the train, with the entire Palace squad and far too many of their tedious "ultras".

Me too, that flight was an absolute dream compared to the train. City is much easier to get to than Paddington for me, can turn up 15 minutes before take-off, a guaranteed seat, quicker, and was cheaper too. Was gutted when the route got cut.
