Re: Operation Sceptre - Knife crime on the streets of Cardiff & Swansea
Interesting article wort a full read , very sad to see the older traditional parts of Cardiff area's become a risk area as the culture in those areas changes .
The two para's below say enough ::
""They are areas of Cardiff that have seen a massive change in culture over recent years, resulting in some of the sense of community being lost.
""Since July 2019 the team has made 418 arrests, made 1,517 stop and searches, and seized 185 weapons as well as drugs with a street value of £501,343""

Well Cathays has always been rife with drugs , it's full of students so that's where the dealers go , always been a lot of tension between locals and students too

I stopped the weekly trip to the Claude a few years ago because of what appeared to be increasing drug activity and also very rarely use the Arches now as it went the same way in the bar, think it has been cleaned up but we have changed pubs albeit only on the weekend, and will continue with the current pub while it remains trouble free.

I know a few folk trying to relocate , very sad indeed. Guess leaving ones front door open up is out of the question these days.
