Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
I'm trying but cannot get through. My package with everything plus 2 Sky Q was going up quicker than the virus graph anyway. Over £20 higher in a 14 month period.

about 30 minute wait.
They will read a statement what they have had off the football league.
you say i want to cancel.
they say normally as your in contract you would have to pay 60 quid but owing to the situation they will let you go with 1 months notice

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
I don't have any of them but would it have been sensible for Sky and co to announce, say a 1 or2 month payment holiday? That way they don't have customers leaving en masse, and people don't have to pay for no content

The tv companies will have to do this.
The knock-on effect could see clubs lose huge amounts of revenue with many clubs going bust.
How come China seems to have coped economically with the virus outbreak? Yet a few days into it and it seems a fair number of UK and European businesses are at serious risk of collapse.
If that happens who will be stepping in to take the place of collapsed airlines, tv companies, supermarkets, banks.....?????
Well, China seems to be in economic fine fettle.....

What are you basing that on? I don't think any of us have any real clue what state China's in to be honest

True.
Just basing on it on having not heard of Chinese companies state they are about to go bust.
But then China being China, they wouldn’t say that.

cancelled just now, only a couple of mins to get through.

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Sky, like most companies, don't make it easy for you to find their phone number on their website. Tried to "downgrade" on line but eventually hit the buffers and was invited part of the way through the process to ring a number provided (had I been upgrading no doubt it would have gone through). Waited 5 mins on hold and job done.

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Will they screw us when we get it back further down the line I wonder?

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Can you cancel mid-contract?
-
Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Sky sports are allowing people to suspend their sports package free of charge supposedly.
-
Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Spoke to Sky this morning. It appears, if you suspend, other prices increase as Sky Sports is lumped in with other stations meaning, depending on your package, you could be worse off than if you left things as they are.

I cancelled before they announced the suspend option.
Movies would have cost £18 instead of £11 with sports, but the nice lady brought it back down to £11 with n 18-month commitment, and also waived the £10 charge for doing the change.

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Just tried to ring them, message saying NO calls for sales being accepted, waiting time of over an hour for any other type of enquiry.
Nice way of avoiding more cancellations I suppose...

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
Don't bother phoning as Sky are aiming to enable subscribers to pause their Sports membership online from tomorrow (Friday).
-
Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
I notice sky had the movies on offer at 8 quid. That's doubled to 16 quid.

Re: Anybody cancelled the sports channels
You can suspend all sports channels immediately without notice or any penalty on the "My Sky App". They will then automatically resume the service 4u when footy starts again.
