Perfect fit ... or is Pulis their man?
Perhaps Swansea cannot afford to pay off Clement
We talking about this yesterday very strange. It must have been a huge wage they offered him.

If he failed at at Swansea it would be a very public humiliation for him.
If he fails at Sunderland its hardly on his own doorstep.

All his family still live there if it went tits up he did n`t want them to suffer as they would most probably have done when it did.

I was being generous for once. I have no doubt he will only have a short stay at Sunderland. Cant see Bale joining him anytime soon.

Re: Why didn't Coleman wait?
Yup, grateful for what he did and wish him the best.
Not got a great feeling about his choice, but its his business and hats off to him if he pulls it off. Somehow.
Re: Why didn't Coleman wait?
If Clement had gone by now then I'm sure he would have gone to Swansea. As it happened the Sunderland job was available so he went there. If they go down this season he'll leave and takeover at Swansea next summer.
Re: Why didn't Coleman wait?
One million pounds per year, he was on £200,000 with Wales, but they offered to double his wage if he stayed.

It’s like a 3 million pound hand shake....win or lose he knows how very lucky he is to be offered a club contract. Back to live in Swansea in a year with family sorted for life.....easy
Re: Why didn't Coleman wait?
Jose Mourinho couldnt keep this Swansea team up.
Keeping Sunderland up should be well within Colemans capabilities.
Sunderland in The Championship or Swansea. Sunderland are a much bigger club.

1 mill a year, when they pay up his contract it will be for perhaps 2 mill, its a no brainer i guess

It's amazing how people can make judgements about others without knowing all the facts and minutiae.
