Going in April and looking at the MGM Grand
Been a few times.
I'd recommend Fremont Street for a fairly surreal experience away from the strip.
Also recommend a Golden Knights game if you can get to one at T Mobile Arena.
Also check how far everything is as it looks a short hop and across the road but usually takes a lot longer and a lot more walking to get to.
I'd also book some of the swankier places to eat before you go but I enjoyed the smaller places just as much. Rock's Rolling Smoke Barbecue was very good as was Tacos El Gordo.
mine was always walk up and down the strip people watching, in the day you see some sights, in the night you see more sights :hehe:
pop into all the casino / hotels, the theming is great
Hoover Dam is a very good day imho
I wouldn’t have MGM in my top 10. It’s at one end of the strip and you’ll walk miles or spend a lot of money on cabs. If you can I’d stay at Caesar’s, Bellagio, Paris or Cosmopolitan which are in a more central spot.
Try a Lobster Roll at the terrace at Mon Ami Gabi in Paris. If there’s a sports event on then there are some great sports books where you can reserve a table (minimum spend on food and drink required), bet on the event and watch on stadium seating huge screens.
If you like food and drink you really can’t go wrong as the choice is limitless and the quality outstanding. The all you can eat buffet restaurant at Caesar’s is unbelievable… not cheap, but nothing in Vegas is.
Try the shops at The Venetian too
If you’re going to rent a car and do the Hoover Dam then leave early and aim to get to the Grand Canyon. You’ll do the Hoover Dam in half an hour and it’s 3ish hours from there to get to the Canyon.. that is sight that you have to see if you’re that close
Highly recommend the helicopter trip over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. Took in a UNLV American football game last time I was there, they weren’t a great side but a few beers and watching the sunset there was good. Planet Hollywood was a nice hotel.
We stayed ok the Aria, lovely hotel, from memory didn’t seem to cost much but very modern.
Im going to add, do the hoover dam hard hat tour, its great, takes between 2 and 3 hours, well worth imho
Isn't it a bit dodgy at night ?
$2 Modelos in Stage door.
The Cosmopolitan hotel is very nice.
Learn how to play Craps !
Don't go there.
I stayed in Aneheim and Palm Springs and drove to Vegas ….. about a day is all you need , there are better locations.
