FT: Cardiff City 3 - 2 Cambridge Utd - First Pre-season game
1pm KO Saturday 8th July @ Cardiff International Sports Stadium or £3 to watch online.
Club info here: https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news...mbridge-united
Personally can't wait to get a look at our new players. And I think it'll be interesting to see who get pitch time or even bench time. It might tell us if a few people are ear marked for the exit door. The most excited I've been for a per-season game for a long long time.

Can't bloody wait :ayatollah:
I'll be overanalyzing every little thing.

Re: City V Cambridge Utd - First Pre-season game
Looking forward to tomorrow and Tuesday evening. Be nice to get back in to the routine again, although it will feel slightly strange being across the road. I think I'm right in saying Tuesday's game against Cewnty is 2 x 1hr halves?

1-1 equaliser in the 92nd minute followed by massive overreaction on here

That’ll be an improvement on last year, Cambridge beat us in the first one hour game 2=0 and then we salvaged some honour with a 1-1 draw in the second game - there were clues as to what was to come in our pre season last year, it was all pretty mediocre stuff.
Wonder if we might see a trialist given a go up front?

I’ll be honest, I thought they were a Vauxhall Conference South side but they’re in Lee Gwan!

Yes last pre-season was a tough watch. I suspect there are a lot of players looking to try and catch the managers eye so I'm hoping we see at least more committed performances.

Re: City V Cambridge Utd - First Pre-season game
Is it 2 halves of 45, or something new and sports sciencey?

2 halves of 45. The fancy continental hipster game time will be against Newport (2 60 minute games, I think).

There'll be more discussion about the kit than the football.

Re: City V Cambridge Utd - First Pre-season game
Will I be the first person to say Morrison out when Cambridge beat us?
-
Re: City V Cambridge Utd - First Pre-season game
I hope we don't win 5-0 and Morrison then thinks we are good enough with Max Watters.

I know what you mean, but I wouldn't mind Watters staying here - his record for the Under 23's at the back end of the 20/21 season and in Leagues One ot Two suggests he's a good finisher and if we let him go, I think he could turn out to be another Rhys Healey.

I agree and think the Healey comparison is very apt. I'd just much prefer if he was a third option at best, rather than the only option (assuming Collins to Derby).

I must have tried 15 times to buy these and the Newport tickets online and keep being told that my card has been declined. I have tried 3 separate cards and 2 of my wife's and still no joy, what a load of crap, well done city:frown:

A back 4? Steve you're spoiling us
It looks like a 4-4-2? Wintle and Rinomhota in midfield, Whyte and Leahy out wide and Collins and Crole up top?

I wondered if it was a 4-2-3-1 but I don’t really know much about Leahy and Carole.
