A great medical breakthrough.
It's being described as the "biggest breakthrough in neurodegenerative diseases for 50 years" - I've never known anyone who suffered from Huntingdons, but it's always struck me as one of the cruelest diseases around because of the way it hits families so hard.

It is at the trial stage, unfortunately that means we could be 5-10 years away from seeing this as a mainstream treatment. Let's hope that this is the answer. It does show, however, how vital research is. Not just for this disease, but things like Alzheimer's and the different types of cancer. A lot of unsung work is being carried out in labs around the world, especially in the UK.
