Our noble leaders after terrorist attacks
I cannot stand leaders of countries fawning over a tragedy, acting as if they care.
I don't hate Theresa May but it grinds when they bring this whole "We will stick together" rubbish. "They won't break our spirit".
A day later she would probably go holding hands with the US etc to stir up more trouble in the Middle East. Further arms sales to Saudi Arabia. The coalition bombed a school the day before yesterday.
Leaders of our governments have caused the majority of this religious strife we currently see. Yet still they come out and act as if they care about us.
They don't get anywhere near enough blame for the situation than they should.

It doesn't help that she is a piss poor public speaker. She cocked the speech up.
My dad was in Whitehall in a pub at the time and was watching it on BBC news, their first headline was something like incident in Westminster x injured/dead, May safe. And it continued from there, half the coverage seemed to be about how frightened the MPs would be...

It's true, most of the reports I've read have mentioned that she was quickly escorted out of the building. As if anyone's first thought was "please let Theresa be ok".

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get inside there, even with a small army.

But dont let that put you off - you get your soap box out and start shouting at them - if nothing else it'll make you feel better about yourself I guess.
What cant i let go? This is the first time i have mentioned May and her public speaking. I can just about put up with the whole 'stick together' and 'you won't break the good old British spirit' if it is delivered well but it loses its gravitas if you trip over it like a kid delivering a line at their first nativity play.
This country needs a strong elected leader for moments like this, not sure where we need to look to find that though.

It certainly wasn't a "We shall fight them on the beaches" type of thing was it.

I bet Andrew Mitchell MP is keeping his head down today. He's the git who had a go at the police for not opening the gates quick enough for him. I'm not sure he he actually called them "plebs" but judging by his record I wouldn't put it past him. He is one of the worst in there.

You'd be surprised what some of us older posters know. 4chan is the name of Charlie Chan's fan club.
Re: Our noble leaders after terrorist attacks
can anyone post what a leader should say in this situation if they said nothing they would be dammed if they say something they are dammed , so please post your speech in no more words than the original leaders speech, dont forget the good positive context,we will judge all entries

Reddit is far superior. The football section is great as well with match threads getting over 5000 comments. It'll grow and grow I think.

It is a good thing they come out, a lot of people will be emotional after an attack. I doubt much can be done after Iraq and our other frolics in the region.
But we really are a different beast outside of the UK. Morals go out the window don't they. Most of the population wouldn't give a hoot about what we do abroad.
It is just a further example that being a politician is essentially being a paid actor. Do well in drama you could probably run for office.
Tell the little stupid Britons you care about them then do otherwise.
