Apparently, when I was about three any family were living in Grangetown, Ted Dexter, who would have been the future England captain then, stood for the Tories in the Cardiff South constituency against James Callaghan - I would guess there have been far more cricketers who have stood for Parliament for the Conservatives than there have been for one of George Galloway’s various parties.

Interesting mix standing for Gallaghers party. Celebs, some from the Labour left, an ex Tory or two, two ex UKIP MEPs..
