Re: Violent Films From Days Gone By
There's too many war, gangster and spaghetti western films to list.
Other than those, Straw Dogs would be difficult to beat mostly for its bloodbath last 30 minutes. Before that slaughter the female lead character, played by Susan George, was raped. She was at the heighth of her shaggability when it was made.
Now in her 70s few would yearn to poke her, although I have little doubt she remains on your radar whether she still has her own teeth or not.

Clockwork Orange was a bit nasty. Watched Get Carter again the other day and had forgotten how brutal and seedy it was

Re: Violent Films From Days Gone By
Probably an obvious choice, but Scarface. The scene in the bathroom with the chainsaw. Brutal!

scum

Re: Violent Films From Days Gone By
Names in the title but one of my personal favs is;
A History of Violence
John Wick films are also super violent but also seem to holds a strange comedy element to them so even though the body count is insanely high, it doesn’t have the same visceral feeling

Watched Thunderbolt and Lightfoot last week. I had forgotten how good it was. Did Clint Eastwood ever make a bad movie?

Bit harsh on the Every Which Ways there I think. They are silly and of the time but on a rainy Sunday afternoon I'd still watch them. I went to the cinema to see Escape from Alcatraz and thought it was boring then, imagine it hasn't got any better.
To be fair to him, his work as actor and director is really good on the whole.
Must watch Thunderbolt and Lightfoot again, Jeff Bridges is excellent
