60s Victims of Geoff Hurst’s very short first class cricket career
Re: Six decades of Cardiff City v West Ham matches.
70s City played Cup games against all 4. West Ham in the League Cup 71/72, Llanelli in the Welsh cup 71/2, Wrexham Welsh cup Finals of 1971 and 1972 and Brighton in the FA Cup 1971. Probably not the right answer but still fits the criteria.

I am impressed Rob, I reckon that's as hard a question as I've asked in these quizzes -
Roy Collins and Tommy Greenhough are the only players to have ever lost their wickets in a first class cricket match by being caught by someone who scored a hat trick in a World Cup Final. Geoff Hurst’s only first class cricket match was for Essex against Lancashire at Aigburth in May 1962 and it’s a fairly well known fact that he scored 0 not out in his first innings and was out for a duck in his second one – he also did not bowl. However, he contributed to a narrow Essex win by catching Collins and Greenhough (who won four England caps during a long career).

You're along the right lines, but you've got the wrong Brighton game - the one I'm talking about was a league match.

By signing for his final club, the 90s player could be accused of glory hunting and the 00s answer played for Swindon in the Premier League.

A sane thread, praise the Lord. Stan Lazaridis and Kevin Horlock.

Both correct.

70's Alan Foggon's goals for City came in those matches.

I should have know that, as I was a big Alan Foggon fan when he was with us.....but not as big as his gut!
I saw him play in a reserve game (half term as I was in school then) at Ninian Park and as we walked back to the station, halfway along Tudor Road a white Rover 2000 screeched to a halt and out jumped Alan Foggon and ran in to the bookies. And he'd played in the game!
