No first team role for Alan Curtis at Swansea
BBC reporting he won't be involved.
No official statement but on first view it seems a bit harsh.

Why harsh? He's been a coach of a team that has been in the bottom 3 all season.

He would probably argue that during his tenure at the club, they have risen to the Premier league and up until this season, have been comfortably mid table.
I think they were also a bit hasty sacking Monk but that is football.
At the moment it probably makes sense for Clement to "sweep clean" and start with a blank page. They will have a very tough time getting out of the bottom 3, particularly with the next 5 fixtures.
He will need to pick up points from what looks like no win games and also hope that fellow relegation teams around them don't do the same.
If not, mid February could well see them well adrift.

I've got images of a pissed Leighton James staggering up to the American owners, slurring something along the lines of 'you don't know what you're doing. Curts should be given the job'.

Unless it was forward thinking on Clements part to take away their option to dismiss him.

Re: No first team role for Alan Curtis at Swansea
Bit of a non story really. New manager wants his own team around him and Swansea going to find a new role for Curtis

Re: No first team role for Alan Curtis at Swansea
I was told earlier from a Jack that he heard Curtis was stabbed in the back after Clements went back on what was agreed when the matter was discussed and that Clement is acting a right billy big bollocks talking to club staff and some players like shit and he thinks it won't be long before we hear of more unrest..
Hope this is true.

Re: No first team role for Alan Curtis at Swansea
I would have thought that Curtis would have a good rapport with the players and staff. Surely that counts for something. Will he at least stay on in some other role?

Paul Clement was just on SSN saying Curtis would remain at the club and be there to give him advice if he needed it.
He even seemed to be keeping the door open to bringing him back to work with the first team - if he doesn't find alternative staff.
He looked a bit thrown by the negative reaction.
Keeps the Swansea 'trouble pot' bubbling nicely.

If I didn't know better I'd say they haven't got a clue what they're doing down West.
Shame really.

Sounds like the new manager is upsetting the apple cart i have a feeling unless he changes his attitude towards people at the club and the squad it won't last long.. How long was he at the last club he managed?
