Tips to Spot False News - Facebook

I thought 1 & 4 were particularily key and easy to spot:
1. Be skeptical of headlines. False news stories often have catchy headlines in all caps with exclamation points. If shocking claims in the headline sound unbelievable, they probably are.
4. Watch for unusual formatting. Many false news sites have misspellings or awkward layouts. Read carefully if you see these signs

Re: Tips to Spot False News - Facebook
It popped up on my news feed earlier, it was this that made me chuckle..
"Lack of evidence or reliance on unnamed experts may indicate a false news story"
There was an unnamed expert on the Nicky Campbell show last week talking about how they need to get rid of Assad, I'm sure he was a credible unnamed person though.
Re: Tips to Spot False News - Facebook
I was half way through responding to Facebook about these before deleting it all as there's no real point (at the bottom of that page you can fill in a "how helpful did you find this" section.)
For "1)" there's no real point as catchy headlines often (these days) are given to real stories ("United Airlines ASSAULT passenger and DRAG him off plane because they OVERBOOKED their OWN flight"). Most news sources are sensationalising their headlines now.
3) Investigate the source.... my Facebook feed is 50% friends posting, and 50% pages posting clickbait headlines to bullshit stories. Facebook does nothing about "Football Feed"-esque pages posting articles such as "Dortmund game cancelled as TEAM BLOWN UP BY BOMB" etc.
Facebook get too many idiots giving them too many clicks onto too many shite links for them to do anything about it.
It's all one step away from "This doctor found one simple trick to make millions of dollars from United Airlines, and you'll never guess what he did next!!"

Problem is that there are too many thick ****ers on social media who believe anything posted. That's why Brexit happened.
