The bad weather in the spring seems to have caused a lot of damage to the hirundine population. Nowhere near as many about as normal. I hope we have a decent summer to help the ones who arrive breed successfully.
Swifts arrive a bit later, they seem to be ok. I've seen loads last couple of weeks.

Kings Road in Canton (Pontcanna) is usually gull of swifts this time of year.
They have been coming there to nest for over a century. The whole area used to be The Marquais of Bute's orchards.
