Surprised no one's mentioned this:
Cardiff City boss Mick McCarthy is keen on signing Scottish striker Jordan Rhodes in the summer when the 31-year-old's contract runs out at Sheffield Wednesday. (Sun)

Rhodes would be nothing more than a very expensive back-up to Moore.
With the ending of the parachute payments we won't be spaffing money up the wall on wages that players like Rhodes would be demanding. And am thankful for that.
It's just paper talk I think.
I'm not sure Rhodes' wages would amount to that much for the reason that I'd be dubious about this deal if it went through - he hasn't done anything for years to justify the sort of wages he may have been earning at one time. Rhodes' goalscoring figures were spectacular at Huddersfield and Blackburn, but since he left Ewood Park in 2016, he's found it hard to break into the starting eleven of any team he's played for.

Rhodes wouldnt be an expensive signing.
backup for Moore would definitely be useful.
at the club next season we will have Moore, watters, Harris, glatzel and vassell able to play up front, but none of the others can play the same role as Moore.
last night colwill was given the job, and I thought he had a few nice touches
There's an article on Walesonline today talking about how Vaulks (and Flint) look so much better under new system new manager so would be folly to say it can't happen with Rhodes, however TOBW highlighted he's done little for a number of years now and if he's asking for good wages it shouts that it's more likely to be a bad move than good one.
I can't wait for those who suggest we've gone back on transfer plan ignoring that we're still allowed to sign older players and stay within plan just as long as they're in the minority going forward.
We don't even know who will be our manager.
He's only managed 1 more goal than Mark Harris has this season and hasn't gotten into double figures for since 2015/16. No thanks.
@FiveThirtyEight's prediction modelling now has us at 17% chance of promotion and less than 1% chance of winning the league or going down. Goodness knows how it's worker out though.

Another Lambert in my view. His days are gone.
Paterson is keeping Rhodes out of relegation favourites Sheffield Weds team! We’d be better off having Paterson back?
