Any good 50" Tv's on Sale anywhere?
Bought one yesterday from Asda a Polaroid 50 inch screen full spec 1080 etc. But took it back this morning as it was awful.
We paid about £275 for it in the sale but to adjust the picture settings like colour and brightness you couldn't adjust it while watching through the sky box. You had to try and adjust it blindly on a blank screen on anything that didn't have a picture showing of anything.
And the sound was crap.
Looking at no more than about £350

Curry's also have a sale, but if you're paying £350 for a 50" TV, don't expect too much.
Re: Any good 50" Tv's on Sale anywhere?
Tesco have a 49" for £199.00. I don't know how good it is for that money, but got to be worth a try. One thing to consider that a lot of programs and all movies are shot in 21:9, and 5K 21:9 TV's are the next big thing, so spend as little as you can at the moment.
Re: Any good 50" Tv's on Sale anywhere?
You only get what you pay for, unfortunately for a tidy large tv you must pay at least £450.

I thought the op was a joke about Polaroids...

That 49" one looks pretty good if you are not planning on it lasting forever, quite tempted to get one for the bedroom.

Why would you want a 50's TV? It might not even work. Almost certainly won't get BBC2 You should get a new one.

We were looking at that one, we had to get our son a new tv as he didn't have hdmi on his old tv to play his new xbox one, we hadn't planned on buying a tv too so we looked for the biggest we could find for the cheapest price, we ended up getting this
Blaupunkt 32 Inch one for £99, it's a nice tv, I was really surprised at the picture quality tbh.
Did the proper thing and bought an LG instead

If it lasts 6 months it will have been worth it just so he can play with his xmas present and not argue with my daughter over using her tv, that alone was worth £99 http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif
Re: Any good 50" Tv's on Sale anywhere?

Go smaller in size and better quality / brand? Why 50" ?
Re: Any good 50" Tv's on Sale anywhere?
Just remember, you don't want to pay the extra for a 16:9 TV, which will last five years when 21:9 is on its way. That's all.
