2tn wiped off Stock Market value. Shocker headline, but....

IN reality, if you look into the facts, not just the scare story, heres what it actually means for the big stock markets:

UK stock market was on a 4 day low.
S&P is a 30 day low
DAX is a 2 week low
CAC40 is a 10 day low.

Dont just read headlines, look past it into facts. Is a 30 day or 2 week low really something to worry about.

Don't worry everybody will have another chance to vote Remain in the EU at the next referendum. In the meantime the big banks behind Remain and George Soros & friends will continue to attack our stocks and currency in order to make it happen! They are not going to let us go quietly :thumbup:

I was expecting a massive 8-10% drop. What will be interesting is where the stock markets are in 30 months - it will be a long process to leave the EU - I will be optimistic about the UKs future if the stock markets are higher then than they are currently, I'd even concede that the Brexitters were right.

Correct. But you're not following your own logic. If you're trying to say the effects are small, "look at the LR in the past", you need to do the same for the indices into the future. Otherwise you're comparing apples and oranges. If you have a private pension, ask your provider for statement in 6 months. You are going to have the shock of your life.

Three facts for you:

1. GBP dropped 12c in ONE DAY against the $.
2. Businesses can re-engineer the way they work with changes in FX, interest rates etc, what paralyses them is uncertainty and that comes from volatility. We have volatility in every financial market in bucket loads now. Draw your own conclusion.
3. When investors get scared they head for gold. Gold rose over 4% yesterday.

Markets have crashed before, and will crash again.

They always recover

It dropped less than 12cents. It rose 5-6 cents just before assuming a remain vote. So it actually fell 6-7 cents in reality.

Or a 3 month low to put it another way.

The value of the pound against the dollar is apparently the same as it was in February. The stock market similarly has only suffered a minor readjustment. In fact, we've done better than the markets in those countries who are going to remain in the EU.

Stop it. It rose 5c IN A WEEK. It fell 12c (rounded) IN A DAY. Those are apples and oranges comparisons. Cable is going to be very volatile for the foreseeable future, that will stymie invest everywhere for some time.
