Is the Pennsylvania still open? That place reminded me of the Kebab & Calculator in The Young Ones.

Can we rename the goat major to the bluebell?
Oh and while we’re about it the Cambrian should make a comeback

Re: So which Cardiff Pub will be renamed...and what to?
Pubs rarely change their names, they just appear to.
for example if Brains wanted to call the Napier 'The Neil warnock' they can change the name on the front but they cannot change the name of the licence. the licence was issued to the Admiral napier and if you want to change it you have to apply for a completely new licence. Of course there is always a chance there will be objection to the pub being there and no licence will be issued.
A good example of this in action (or inaction if you will) is the Royal George on the corner of Macintosh Place. It was called that in 1995 and it is still called that now. but in between its been several different things like e.g. a screamers pub. But each change if you go inside there would be a notice on display somewhere that says "The Royal George trading as........." That way they keep the licence safe.
So maybe the Bluebell could come back, and the Cambrian, and the Terminus and lots of others

Your take on licensing is complete b0llocks. Any licence holder can change the licence name for a £10.50 change of details fee.
Good read tho’ 😂

They can change the name but not the licence, well they can but with the risk I mentioned

You can change the name on the licence for £10.50. You can change anything on the licence (hours, activities, opening times) by way of premises licence variation application- fee dependent on non-domestic rateable value and banding that relates.
Example - The Model Inn was a Brains, pub. Brains changed the whole set up by way of variation and renamed Greenwood and Brown. Brains own the building. A transfer has gone in with the licence now being held by Bar 44. They’ve changed set up again by variation and name change to Asador 44 - all on the same original licence granted.
Tidy butt.

I'm sure there were complaints about this at the time it was opened. I seem to remember something from the company saying they don't want the pub connected to the football stadium or the club, so avoided a name which may give that impression.

'The Keenor' was muted at the time.

We should boycott the place until it is given a name associated with Cardiff City FC?

I've been accidentally boycotting the place since it opened to be fair
