Cardiff and Nantes have agreed to extend the deadline on the first instalment of the £15m transfer fee for Emiliano Sala until February 27.
The Bluebirds had been asked to make the first payment of €6m (£5.27m) to Nantes on February 20, but the clubs have agreed a delay of one week.
I have to say, I'm very surprised by this development and may go to show how wrong I was to suggest that City should just 'pay up' - if this develops further.
A swift resolution would be too much too hope for though, wouldn't it.

Better off paying now before the exchange rate goes down due to brexit

No point. The world ends after Brexit according to some.
