New manager will be stuck with a 433/4231/451
Does anyone expect big changes to the way we line up? We seem to have an abundance of players that suit these formations.
Could we field a 41212 (diamond)
Or maybe a wide variation of it?
Smithies
Bennett
Nelson
**** knows
Coxe
Pack
Ralls Bacuna
Tomlin
Ward Glatzel
Ball on the deck.
Could any of the wingers do a job up top?
Hoilett would be ok in the 10 role as well
Yes, I’m bored.

Ciaron Brown the other CB.

It's still the same players so we'll get the same results. I don't like a team like that with no pace. we have to have one or two or Murphy, NML or Holiett in. I exclude Whye because he is not fast.

Worth a shot.
Not sure how Bamba will cope as he’s obviously older and just got back from injury...

That’s why I mentioned the wingers up top

And doesn’t play for anyone other than Warnock

Didn't Murphy play as a forward/striker when we went to a back 3/5 against Wolves last season? Hoillet as a left wing-back too, I think...

Not sure when his contract is up but I can see him moving on at the end of the season

I’m not sure, but again surely anything is worth a go at this stage!

I mentioned it because we played well and won... Then we reverted back to Plan A.

Apart from the failed experiment Warnock used for the first 10 games or so this season (4231) he played 4141 or 4411 virtually throughout his time at City.
StT.

4411 and 4231 are very similar, I’ve always thought we play 433 anyway not 4141 or 4411
Re: New manager will be stuck with a 433/4231/451
The little I've seen of Nelson so far suggests he could play in a back three with wing backs. The big advantage of playing something like 3-5-2 for me would be that we should not have the single isolated striker (something that meant that we have not seen the best of any one who played the role under Neil Warnock apart from Zohore's inspired spell).
We no longer have a manager who insists on playing two wingers with defensive full backs. We were over reliant on those wingers to produce match winning moments and, perhaps bogged down with the defensive responsibilities they always had under our former manager, they, both collectively and individually, have not produced enough of them since we got promoted.
