That has a lot info, I always wonder how they pull this stuff together ,is it from every game in Europe in those leagues ?
Brighton have changed blimey
Is there any stats on what percentage end with a good attack where opponents havent touched ball against where ball is lost within own half and concede a good attack.
Its obvious you are more likely to retain possesion from one as its un challenged possesion.
Depends on how it's used. Take the polar opposites in terms of approach. Take Swansea when they'd happily spend a few minutes stroking the ball across the half way line. Take us when Warnock was in charge and the half way line was a bit like a tennis net. I wouldn't mind betting that Warnock's runners-up had more attempts on goal and more attempts on target than Rodgers promoted Jacks. Ironically, both teams scored the same number of goals. Sadly stats don't exist for the 2010/11 season, but when we were promoted, only 3 teams managed more attempts on goal than us. Our shot accuracy was also pretty decent. Our number of attempts on goal and on target from 2017/18 is higher than Swansea's is this season.
In this season's Championship, there's limited correlation between possession and attempts on goal. The top 12 in terms of possession are ranked 1st, 5th, 2nd, 4th, 11th, 6th, 16th, 17th, 3rd, 20th, 22nd and 23rd in attempts on goal. Outside the top 6, there's absolutely no correlation at all.
God help if we started taking short goal kicks
