Proposed changes to the rules of football.
Apparently the organising bodies are trialing some fundamental changes to the game including;
Two 30 minute halves.
Unlimited substitutes
Throw ins replaced with kick ins
5/10 minute yellow cards.
I have not seen anything , officially, on this but three different people have been messaging me about them.
Assuming there is an element of truth on this what are people’s thoughts on the proposed changes?

Re: Proposed changes to the rules of football.
If true the football authorities are hell bent on ruining the game.

Re: Proposed changes to the rules of football.
Of course they arent considering this.😂😂😂

Three 30 minute halves, surely.

Throw ins replaced by kick ins reduces City’s attacking options by fifty per cent at a stroke :hehe:.

Bar the 30 minute half, it is ridiculous. That has some sense but I'm still against it.
Unlimited subs is a farce and the other rules just aren't needed. You've got the best game in the world, stop messing with it.

Heard something about the 30 minute halves recently, not sure where.
Wouldn't be a fan of any of those listed really.

I did think you might be too astute to have made such a faux pas but I thought it needed saying as it was a bit too subtle for some
I've mentioned before about these clowns messing with the beautiful game.
It ain't broke so why try and fix it :frown:

Re: Proposed changes to the rules of football.
Isn't 30 minutes the average time the ball is in play so I assume that rule would be combined with a time-keeper?

Had started a proper reply about how it may have been mentioned somewhere during the Euros but :hehe:

‘Rules’ of football?????? Philistine......they’re laws of the game

``Were the Yanks involved in this travesty?

Re: Proposed changes to the rules of football.
Unlimited subs is a dreadful idea, more advantages to the larger teams
"Kick ins" will just see you getting the ball smashed into the box all the time. That and unlimited subs probably ends up with "special teams" where the tall lads all get chucked on at set pieces
Sin bins is a bad idea, particularly with some of the ridiculous yellows you see

Re: Proposed changes to the rules of football.
5/10 minute cards only works if they get VAR working (personally I don't want VAR at all)

Re: Proposed changes to the rules of football.
I’m sure I heard of 30 minute halves a long time ago but on the premise that the clock was stopped every time it was out of play akin to other sports.
Throw ins goal kicks etc would all be clock stopped and would work out about the same

I heard as well that from now all players have to hold on to a bar that's is the width of the pitch. The bonus is that will be permitted to do back/forward flips to pass the ball.
