City's record against the Championship top ten in 22/23
I know plenty of us believe the Championship was relatively weak this season and the division was severely lacking in genuine quality. For me, nothing underlines that notion more than the fact that an ordinary Sheffield United side managed to gain automatic promotion by finishing a staggering 11 points ahead of Luton in third place.
Given the obvious lack of quality in the division this time around, City's record against the sides who finished in the top ten is genuinely alarming.
The home record reads:
P 10, W 1, D 2, L 7, GF 7, GA 14, Pts 5
While the away record was:
P 10, W 2, D 2, L 6, GF 5, GA 15, Pts 8
So, the Bluebirds picked up just 13 points from those 20 matches while failing to score in four of the home games and seven of the away games. Statement of the obvious perhaps, but the manager has an enormous job on his hands next season.

Five goals in ten away games, and three of those were scored in the first half at Middlesbrough!

He’s tidy around the dressing room, makes a lovely cuppa and he’ll drop anyone anywhere and doesn't even ask for petrol money, what’s not to like?
