It's amazing how quickly his principles disappeared when there was cold hard cash on offer.

No doubt his agent is preparing some suitable wording for him, along the lines of "... playing here will lead to greater understanding and awareness........."

100%
"Footballers have a short career, securing his family's future blah blah blah..."
Good riddance to the nodding dog.

Not sure Ramsey who earned a reported 400k a week at Juventus is the best example here.

I think we all do the same on a daily basis.
We moan about the high street but shop on amazon
We moan about public transport but own a car
Still, I've always thought Jordan Henderson was bit of a **** anyway.

Re: Jordan Henderson - Virtue Signaller of the year
Not a fan of Henderson but I don't know why we give such figures this kind of responsibility, especially when they don't give stuff a lot of thought. He's in a weird, overregarded profession anyway and then has to be a shining beacon of morality. He's probably not homophobic and won't be before and after his time in Saudi. We need to lower expectations.

It's no comparison really.
Henderson and basically any other current regular PL player have so much money they can afford to make any choice. Majority of 'normal' people can't.

Yes you can, Bale went for one more big pay deal instead, and Rambo came home to become a Legend :ayatollah:

Then moral choices become a privilege of the rich.

You’ll all be eating your words when he organises Pride/Riyadh next summer.

Re: Jordan Henderson - Virtue Signaller of the year
Why do I always get the feeling that when people talk about virtue signalling, it's not so much the person being accused that is the primary point of focus, but the issues that those people have focused on, as some backhanded dismissal.

it must be easier to have a strong moral compass when you earn £200 K a week ( at Liverpool )
Not sure whats more amazing Liverpool were paying him £200 K a week, or the Saudis are going to pay him £700 K a week

He doesnt need the money - neither do the rest of them who have gone to fake sheik league for a series of demonstration matches. But yeah - the money's not too bad and hard to resist when you are at the @rse end of your career

Re: Jordan Henderson - Virtue Signaller of the year
None of us know for sure what we would do in his position. I feel slightly negative about it. But I don't really care what Jordan Henderson does. It's not like I ever looked to him for leadership.
