Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Gavin Chesterfield has resigned as manager of Barry Town,to take a job with a professional club.It seems he could be the new head of our academy-https://twitter.com/nigelblues/status/1567462184749252608?s=21&t=jYQW56Q_J_Af8Tqp1krmdQ
If that thread on Twitter is anything to go by-Nigel is a former poster on here and Nick Evans is a reliable source.
The only sticking point is apparently Chesterfield is staying in at Barry for a two month transitional period. Could be interesting

You wouldn't want to watch a whole match like that would you!

That is interesting. Looks to have a good coaching background https://www.southwales.ac.uk/courses...-chesterfield/
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Did my eyes deceive me, or was that Jamie Carragher watching the U21 Wigan match? If he was a trialist in the match then I'm not sure which team would be more desperate.

Interesting to see how he gets on.
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
City's under 21s travel to the wurzels this lunchtime for a one o clock kick off. Despite the match having been streamed on the Bristol City website last season, that doesn't appear to be the case this time - or at least, I can find nothing to indicate it will be.
The wurzels are also going well at this level with a four wins and a draw from their five games - wonder if City will continue to go with the youngsters, or will players like Tanner and Denham get some much needed game time?

I can't anything about a stream either.
Tanner getting some game time https://mobile.twitter.com/CF11Acade...42170830786564
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Tanner was announced in a blaze of glory. Morison clearly does not think he is ready for 1st team football. In the 'old' days he would have had half a dozen starts by now.

Certainly in the back end of last season when Morison was having a good look at the squad players - and finding they weren't all up to the media hype from earlier in the season..

No, just the academy twitter feed https://mobile.twitter.com/CF11Academy
Also https://www.flashscore.com/football/england/professional-development-league/
I wouldn't bother though - it's 3-0 now!

Well, at this level, it may have something to do with a situation whereby we start with just four Academy graduates today and, to be honest, I wonder if they see the wurzels as just another team - I’m sure they don’t think of it in the same way as they would a match with the jacks.
I wasnt impressed with the under 21s when I saw them against Peterborough a few weeks back, but that was a very good win over a strong Wigan team about ten days ago, so it’s hard to know what to think about them at the moment. I

What we're doing with the under 21s seems bizarre at the minute. We appeared to have been building good young sides of academy graduates and were getting good results, now it's full of cast offs from Premier League clubs. Why such a sudden change?
I saw Darren Purse describe Kristensen's "experience" as something he adds to the group, that seems a somewhat strange reason to sign a teenager for a youth team that's supposed to be geared toward developing players for the first XI
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Nice bit of understatement from the social media team - "City are behind at the break". I predict "a difficult afternoon for the young Bluebirds" later or maybe "City U21s don't win or draw". 5-0 now.

I thought the same!
They've chosen to tweet the FT score with no comments!
