Neser is bowling absolute rockets. Don't switch off just yet
Match drawn. Excellent effort and performance. There smly wasn’t enough in the pitch.
Glamorgan have played the league leaders twice now and been the better side on both occasions - we’ve definitely got a chance of a top two finish, but we need to get our recruitment for the closing games of the season right.
Agreed, the pitches at Cardiff have been a problem for some time, in fact there are plenty around the country that just do not wear and tend to get easier to bat on as the game goes on. The Notts game was played in mostly hot, sunny conditions on a pitch that didn't havea great deal of moisture in it on day one - time was, that would be a recipe for the pitch to start to crumble or even disintegrate as the game went on and the spinners would come into their own in the second half of the contest, but it doesn't happen any more at most grounds - for whatever reason, pitches don't deteriorate like they used to and that makes for less of a spectacle in my book.
Good effort, pitch did look very flat. Would also be fair to say that the spinners on display probably weren't the highest quality in terms of wicket taking ability. Talk that we may be getting ravi ashwin in as one of the replacements when Ingram/neser leave, think he'd be a very good signing.
Still think we are going into matches a bowler light at the moment. If timm does come back next game I hope it's in place of a batsman
Ashwin would be a cracking signing. Van Der Gugten will be a decent option when Neser returns to Aus.
There’s a women’s fifty over game between England and South Africa taking place this afternoon at Leicester where it’s expected to reach 37 degrees. The good news for Glamorgan is that their match with Leicestershire has been put back a day to Wednesday because of today’s game - the forecast for Leicester tomorrow is for the temperature in Leicester to reach 40 degrees.
Ben Stokes retires from fifty over one day international cricket.
Looks a very, very flat pitch at Leicester, the home side are 32-0 and I’ve not seen a ball beat the bat yet.
if its anything like the one the women played on you could bat forever
Early afternoon inroads, always nice to see! Hoges is an absolute machine.
145 -3, not bad on this pitch. Ackerman 277 not out in his last innings, out first ball today.
Only two bowling points for both Middlesex and Derbyshire.
Pretty straightforward catch dropped by Cooke just now off Hogan.
If the pitch is a belter then those kind of dropped catches are even more damaging than normal.
Just noticed that we are facing joey evison for the 2nd time in 2 games. On loan from notts to Leicester.
Leics look like getting 500 plus here. A high scoring draw wouldn’t be a bad result. We need to make sure we get maximum bonus points when we bat.
Leicestershire closing in on 600 - Glamorgan have just dropped their seventh catch of the innings.
Edit 584 all out, Roman Walker, who Glamorgan handled so poorly last season, last out for 64.
this is not going good at all both openers gone already:angry:
Ingram and Northeast still there at the close on 46 and 50 respectively.
Excellent steadying of the ship.
Sensible chanceless batting tomorrow is the order of the day.
Interesting overseas player selected for the last month of the season, we need it to stay dry through September.

228-2, both Ingram and Northeast have got their centuries.
Our game looks odds on for the draw. Sussex wobbling v Middlesex though at 69/4. A surprise Middlesex win is not what we want.
Sussex are really messing up at 69/5 at lunch
I remember Sussex helping Worcestershire to promotion in a declaration game thereby denying us in the process. They’ve never been a side I’ve had much time for. Looking at who’s out for Sussex, they’re going to lose that match.
Just to add we just missed out on promotion that season and Matt Maynard was then shafted. His son Tom then left and we know the rest. That final day ended up having profound consequences.
