Perhaps because he's survived a war torn country to seek sanctuary in a civilised country and then get's a bottle of water tipped in his face similar to being water boarded?
Other than that I'm not really sure.

I am the lead coordinator of a local community sponsorship group that has raised the funds to bring a Syrian refugee family to Wales. Today the dad asked me if I had seen the report on the news about the two Syrian refugee children in school in Huddersfield. I guess he is nervous now that his own children may be the victims of such bullying. All I could do was to try to reassure him that unfortunately there are always a handful of idiots who think that it is ok to bully others, regardless of their ethnicity.
Thankfully in the 6 months they have been here there have been no issues and long may that continue. I’d like to think in Wales we are more accepting of foreigners especially those who have been forced to leave their homes and everything/everyone they knew behind. Just hope we don’t get some copycat idiots thinking that this is a clever thing to do. If our family are anything to go by, the kids are great - very polite, respectful and keen to learn – maybe that’s what most annoys the bullies in a school situation?
Your fecking joking right. My brothers a social worker specialising in out of control kids and he says battering them NEVER EVER works. They'll always come back with a bigger bat when you're not looking.99% of these kids are victims of abuse themselves. My brother has varying degrees of success as he does the work of 2 and then some but assures me that your way is 3rd world ignorance.
With all due respect to your brother, and the good job he does, I’d like to see some official figures about 99% of bullys being victims of abuse themselves. In my school days and adult yrs, I’d say the majority of bully’s I have come across, come from decent families.
They are just arseholes who think they can get away with it. A lot of parents are horrified to find out their kids are bully’s.
it used to be the way we did it in the past, punish them, lock them up in a young offenders unit etc
we have moved on since then, we ( mainly my wife ) have 3 social workers as friends and the new way is a arm around the shoulder and talk about it and show them the world is a great place ( with a free trip to Butlins or disneyland paris ) our friends say the new way has better results
imagine if this was the other way round and some indigenous child was beaten up by immigrants. Thankfully this never happens..
Well the info's out there mate. You'll forgive me if I don't feel the need to back up what I've said but by all means feel free to proove me a liar.Stories related to me of so-called decent families would make your stomach churn. It's so true when they say"give me the child before seven and I will give you the man"or something like that. For my sins I must admit I couldn't do the job my brother does .
In my school, yes it was that bad, I was in the " computer club " ( with BBC Micro's, which were state of the art then ) and had a friend who was always bullied, he was from a poor family, He smelt real bad ( as far as i took in deodorant for him to have ) his clothes needed a wash, infact he needed new clothes, they were rags, his shoes had holes in the bottom of them and when it rained he used to put his feet in carrier bags , His glasses were help together with tape, he carried his school stuff to school in a happy shopper carrier, he took dogs abuse for the entire time of secondary school, it was horrid to watch, even when the bully issue was sorted out ( mainly by me being friends ( well i lived near him and went to primary sch with him ) with the hardest kid in school and saying my dad would take him to the football if he " threatened the bully " ) it started up again but with another bully
yes of course the reason in this case is that he is Syrian, but it could have just as easily have been his dad was transgender, his sister on the game, any reason the bully wants,
The worrying this about this whole incident is what type of country we have created, we are creating areas where whites are resentful to what these Asylum seekers have, how bad must the lives of these whites be to be resentful people who have very little, these race issues ( from both the whites and Islamic radicalisation ) are often centred around Bradford, why ? ? ??
And here’s a surprise, the vile racist Yaxley-Lennon spreading lies about the young Syrian boy. What an absolute piece of excrement he is.

Let's hope this bully gets what he deserves and that the police, social services and courts do their jobs properly... and that that gets shared round the world too![/QUOTE]
Having worked with violent kids in the past, I can tell you now the police, social service and courts won't do a 'proper' job. All he'll get is a slap on the wrists and some punitive form of punishment. In these pc/snowflake times the police, social services and courts have their hands tied, sadly
Nope, I certainly ain't joking in the least. I worked with violent, extremely aggressive kids in the past. A lot of them only respected someone who could put them in their place. Treating them with kid gloves like social workers do is NOT the answer, nor is the punitive, pathetic justice handed out by YOT. Nor the slap on the wrists handed out by the police when they have glassed someone....
Here’s some Twitter links proving that Yaxley-Lennon was lying about the young lad for the sole intention of inciting racial hatred. The young Syrian’s lawyer is considering suing him

Yes it’s all in the links I posted. As I said the young Syrian boys lawyer is thinking of suing.

Of course bullying happens in a lot of schools, growing up can be a tough time.
It's always difficult to know in things like this, was he just being attacked for his race, or if he had been white would he have bullied him anyway and it just happens that on this occasion the victim happened to be an immigrant.
Unfortunately what has emerged about the bully's family and social media posts makes me strongly suspect that this was entirely racially motivated. The parents and people spouting the kind of hate onto the internet that has twisted this kids young mind are the ones that are making this country a worse place, not innocent kids escaping a warzone

I agree with this. As I said in my earlier post (#27) the Syrian refugee family I am closely involved with are a great bunch. The children are very polite, rather shy, and are keen to learn in school and I suspect this could be the situation in Huddersfield as such kids would be more vulnerable to bullying. I have had to explain to the dad that this is not typical behaviour and unfortunately not everyone is welcoming to refugees, something I should not have to be doing. Maybe a short break in Aleppo or Homs or even better in Idlib might be part of the redress procedure that the bully could participate in?
Sickening to watch. That poor lad.
As if he and his family haven’t been through enough shite in their lifetime than to have to come face to face with wankers like the ones in the video.
