Re: The WAG agree private sale of land to a private offshore company owned by Stan Thomas
Come on Mick - you can do better than that.
As for fleecing people, the irony of that statement is lost on you isn't it - look inside your very shallow conscience, and repeat to yourself - I need to be better person.
Im all for a free market and growing a business - what I dont like is the WAG deciding to privately sell land to an offshore co at 34 million under the market value.
The WAG are either corrupt or incompetent or quite possibly both.

WAG are second raters. They are a joke.If they were any good at politics they would not be stuck in Cardiff and would set their sights a lot higher.Just a bunch of no amateurs.

Re: The WAG agree private sale of land to a private offshore company owned by Stan Thomas
Leaving aside which political party they belong to, WAG have shown their incompetence over many years and this case borders on the criminal. I've no idea how anyone, whatever their political leaning, can defend it.

Re: The WAG agree private sale of land to a private offshore company owned by Stan Thomas
IT corruption pure and simple corruption. Yes it was sold as farm land. But talks of developing the land have been around for atleast 10 years, probably longer. So it was known to have development potential.
Jail is needed in this scenario. Its nothing but greed fueled corruption.

It's tricky to justify this, considering only 1 party has been in power....

Well Labour was power-sharing with Plaid for a few years and there was no discernible difference.

The WAG agree to sell off some prime land, they decide NOT to allow the public, individuals or companies to bid for it - INSTEAD they decide to sell it to a private company based in Guernsey, which happens to have Stanley Thomas (brother of Pete the pie Thomas) as one of the owners.

They got away with it in the same way the WAG gets away with similar stuff - a complete refusal of the local Welsh media to interrogate and scrutinize their bosom pals..

Re: The WAG agree private sale of land to a private offshore company owned by Stan Thomas
The controlling labour government in Wales also overpayed the purchase of cardiff airport by about 20 million in the news today. I suppose that's only 50 million gone titsup with the airport and the lisvane land. Great hey....

Bottom line is, none of them really care and when they're not filling their pockets they're asleep at the wheel.

I agree, but there are other options. You dont have to vote for labour or the conservaties. I would definitely advocate not doing that, considering like you say, they are in it for themselves.

I'd dread to have a Plaid majority in the Welsh Government, but there's little chance of that as most people see some sort of sense.

and this is exactly why they will do things like the OP link, because idiots will continuously vote them in, thus not holding them to account over what they've done. It's a shocking state of affairs where th party in charge can literally do anything they want knowing for a fact that they will get the votes to stay in power.

Re: The WAG agree private sale of land to a private offshore company owned by Stan Thomas
Totally agree Muffy (would have preferred it to stay as it was personally) - however when the post office shares were sold anyone could bid to buy a piece of it - they 'allowed' the public, or companies to buy in.
The WAG didnt do that - they somehow thought it would be better to pick a private offshore company owned by Stan Thomas in Guernsey and ask them if they would like to buy the land http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif
ps the post office shares have remained roughly the same since they were sold - about 4.50 on day 1 and they are 4.53 today.

You'll agree - hopefully - that that is no defence for what WAG has done?
