Corrected for you:hehe:

Mcphail was not a tackler or workhorse , I have no idea what you are talking about
Rae was a ball winner and protector . Watts was a left sided forward who would drift out wide . Both him and mcphail needed protection as they were ball players
Kav needed Boland and Bonner
That's how it worked and that's why we need to look for these sort of players now

In his time as a regular we've finished 18th and 21st, not that it's all his fault, but it tells you something. The same goes for Ng. I think it may be the case that they looked good playing alongside the dross brought in last season, but their limitations are showed up when playing alongside better players (Ramsey obviously, but Bowler too). Bowler was screaming for the ball off Ng on several occasions only for him to take about 6 touches, delay our attack and waste an opportunity.
There’s people who say he’s Premier League standard?! Wowza
Goes through many games with limited involvement.
Depends what we’re trying to achieve really. If it’s to be in the top 10 then we have to do a lot better.
Oh to have a young Gunnarrasson back

I'm not a great fan of Wintle, as my earlier post in this thread suggests.
However, in fairness, I don't recall too many fans ever claiming he was Premier League standard.

They are both decent Championship players and more than good enough for a lower half Championship club.
Ng is one of our most important players these days, his passing from midfield has been a key part of quite a few of the chances we've been making. Against QPR he had the most progressive passes, most passes into the final 1/3, most key passes etc.
would like to see him sign a contract extension next

He also consistently killed any momentum we had by holding onto the ball too long and not releasing Bowler, especially in the first half

He had a poor game v QPR. The whole team was clueless though in what they were doing.
V Leeds he put Ugbo through with a superb ball. If that had gone in it would have been game over.

Superb ball :hehe:
He just smashed it forward clearing his lines.

Hes a below average Championship player / decent league 1 player, hes never in a million years going to set the championship alight.
