I'd cancel all comedians apart from Stewart Lee, Mark Thomas and Mark Steel.

Maybe he cracks one about epilepsy, then all hell breaks loose and horrible things get said.. that's not funny because my aunty has epilepsy...but you were ok laughing at others expense the other 98 percent of the show...

They are in my top 5 - seen both the Marks a lot live, but never Stewart Lee (only TV and YouTube gigs).
I saw Mark Thomas (and spoke to him) a few months ago at a benefit for the Orgreave Truth And Justice Campaign. He's still got the fire and the wit! There was also a band there that I should have known but didn't - Ferocious Dog - a folk-punk band that has been about for 12 years and fronted by an ex striking miner from Nottinghamshire! I am now a convert and a fan!

Sounds like my kind of day! I've watched all three, Thomas on numerous occasions, at the sherman in cathays, brilliant! Steel is in Cardiff in May, got tickets for that one. Al Murray is a favourite, but i don't think that some of his audience are 'Getting it' and i'm not the brightest, so god help those poor buggers, although who cares, it adds to the humour!

Mark Thomas did a wonderful gig about his dyslexic, East end builder Father who loved opera. Bravo Figaro it was called. It's about his dad dying as well. I'm not that emotional, but it got me, damn it!

What really gets my goat is how people support the likes of the c*nt that is Frankie Boyle.
That is the epitome of complete lack of comedic talent, being completely dependant on insulting others less fortunate for half an uncomfortable laugh.
Nobody wants the world to be too PC, but when you have someone like that, who is utterly dependant on insulting others because of a lack of talent, and they're allowed to make money from it... Come on ffs.

I'd say it was possibly worse to be honest, although it is still bad now at times.
I do think more should be done to nip that shite in the bud though, we've seen good posters walk away from here in the past because the silly shit is allowed to fester too much.
Obviously nobody wants a "soft" board, what's the point... Too PC and no balls = no fun really.
However, having said that, it shouldn't be that people feel they can't post because of a small percentage of c0cks acting'ard and giving it the big'un so to speak.
That also ruins the board, sadly.
It's not just this forum, Toxicity and partizanship are rife on most social media platforms.
You will see exactly the same interaction on Sunderland and Stokes message boards.
This started before Brexit and Trump, these so called Culture Wars and they have been fought tooth and nail by both sides, while nuance has been the proverbial baby in the bathwater.
It's horrible, I've been horrible myself and blocked 2 people on here for the first time since I started using the internet back in the 90s.
There is a lot of browbeating and sanctimony.
There is also no shortage of idiocy for people to be sanctimonious about.
I think that props need to go to Organ Morgan, Lardy and Cyril for the way that they can tear lumps out of each other in a reasonably civilized manner, humorous manner.

Or was it when changing from blue to red made everyone see red. Personally I’ve been on this from when my modem used to smoke if I tried to send a message. I’m thankful to people keeping me in the loop with chat about this terrible football club and yes it’s very annoying at times, very much like sitting in the crowd at CCS or Ninian Park.
One thing that has changed over the last 20years or so is I’m 20 years older. The older I get the better I (and things) used to be. Oh and these days you say you’re English and you get thrown in jail.
Probably when people were offering to smash each others heads in up Beddau.
People have bickered on here since day dot

Not as a collectively though depending on where somebody resides on the ideological/political spectrum.

Al Murray used to be good, but I don't think the parody pub landlord creation has developed as much as it should. He seems to be moving into Channel 5 military history documentaries in recent years. I remember Mark Steele doing miners' benefits in 1984 often alongside the late (and missed) Linda Smith.

Alf Garnett had the same audience , half of them were laughing at his bigotry and racism and how Warren Mitchell took him to bits , half of them laughing because he was slagging off the blacks

Wasn’t there a story going around that some West Ham fans on a tube that he was on were praising him for ‘his views’ ? He gave them short shrift telling them that the whole point was that the Alf Garnett character was created by Johnny Speight to take the piss out of the likes of them, portraying bigots as stupid oafs that folk laughed at rather than with. Rounding the conversation off by telling them that he was a Jewish Spurs fan and wouldn’t support West Ham if they were the last club on earth.
Whether the story is true or not, I like to believe that it is.

I only swing by this board from time to time to get some perspective on CCFC (God knows why...), and I occasionally get a good chuckle from seeing a bunch of miserably cynical crusty armchair managers bite lumps out of each other, but I can't help myself and wade in when I see stupid comments, so here I am!
Woke….what a load of utter bollocks….re writing books that mention fat people and singing Delilah…..wooooosh

They're not airbrushing Roald Dahl's books no more. In the news now.

Rumours of it being a clever PR stunt, apparently Heinz did something similar a few years back. Saying that they were discontinuing Salad Cream, cue an outcry and shoppers defiantly buying it. Heinz admitting eventually that there was no plan at all to bin the product, it was all a marketing plan by their PR department.

Pretty smart to be fair.
Any shit like that tends to work on the morons that can't see the stunt behind it.
I'd have been selling mine on eBay if I had any.
