I thought the same. Should have gone with 3. Morrison for Hoilett/Reid or Ward. Instead he stuck with the back 4 with Gunnarson sitting in front.

Excellent post there fel!
What did he do to contribute to that win then? He’s garbage I don’t care what anyone says, we won today but that’s the 3rd time we’ve played against 10 men for more than half the game and nearly ended up with only 3 points

I know it was a painful watch at times and to me, some questionable subs and tactics but at the moment all that counts is the 3 points.
Onwards and upwards

That doesn’t really work with word ‘nearly’ included.

He's right though. Bamba is not up to Premier League standard as a defender.. which is his primary role.

Uddersfield and Newcastle winning at the moment. Back in the bottom 3 ffs.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION. Match thread
Positives:
- Gunnarson's performance dragged us away from conceding late to winning the game. If you're not scoring him 9 out of 10 in your player ratings just for what his performance meant then have another look.
- Camarasa, Patterson and Etheridge put in a solid performance.
- 3 points and now pressure on others.
Negatives:
- Ralls was not match-fit yet was required to 76 minutes which shows our lack in depth.
- Manga ended up playing CB and RB from 70 mins onwards as Peliter is one of a) not a premier league player b) just returning from a bad injury or c) a mixture of the two
- Morrison injury is a potential negative if it's going to keep him out for any amount of time
- Our front 3 looked as if this was their first game playing together. Very disjointed in attack.
Super-negative:
- What do you do if you've just won your second premier league game and the fans are celebrating? Drown them out with a crap light show and loud music of course. Whoever was in charge of that needs to have a major rethink.

Agree with all of that. Paterson was badly isolated second half. Our support player down the wings is non existent sometimes. Only when we kept our width in second half did we look like creating something.
We need a a right back who can attack and provide natural width , and an intelligent striker to make runs. That being said we needed them last January.

Murphy needs to learn when to release the ball

Totally agree.
I’ve read the whole thread and no one has mentioned Gunnar, who was by far our best player. He won everything, and was tidy on the ball for the most part.
I was fuming when he brought Pelts on, meaning one of Reid and Ward wouldn’t get on. We needed an out and out striker on the pitch for the last 15-20 mins. Felt we could’ve gone to 3 at the back and swapped Morrison for an attacker. But then after that they had a couple of breaks where they looked dangerous, so maybe I was wrong and Neil was right.
Forget the performance, which I didn’t think was great, it’s all about the 3 points today. Bluebirds

OK, it was great defending. And A great decision by Sol to give up the foul. The referee should have disallowed it because it wasn't fair.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION. Match thread
To be fair once Brighton had a player sent off they setup with two banks of 4 with extremely little space between them. We didn’t have the creative spark to pull them out of shape to then create spaces.

Makes you wonder if Warnock regrets not having Tomlin in the squad. Would have been perfect today.

Got the match winner, which was fantastic. Unlucky not to score the spectacular.
But defensively he was woeful and when the ball is at his feet it’s like a hot potato... no negativity just the reality.

It was more of the sarcasm about the long throw. Everyone with eyes could see it was poor defending. But you take it upon yourself to shit on the team at every opportunity. You just want to be right, it's ****ing sad.

If you have the time, watch the Leicester game again but just watch Sol. He is better than Manga and it's not even close.

"We get knocked a little bit and yet you look at the first goal we scored, it came from Neil Etheridge, we had 16 passes, and not one of their players touched it, but people will say it's a long throw."- Neil Warnock

I'll tell you what's sad. Long throws from our own half.

The woman presenter in the live coverage said as much.
(Paraphrasing), she said "before the game we were saying how direct Cardiff are, but every Cardiff player touched the ball leading to the equaliser".
Unjustified reputation.
