Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 4 SWANSEA CITY. Match thread
Why did he take Doyle off when Ralls was having a shocker. Doyle was the only player who gave a ****. Maybe Dramah, Ng and Wintle tried but everyone else had a shocker. Colwill should have started, that second goal killed us, if we got them subs on before that who knows…Hugill won everything and had nothing to feed off or to, Isaak might’ve been better than Harris but who knows. Bad day. But my dad was on the screen and in the programme where he passed in April, so today was special no matter the result. We’ll come back. BLUEBIRDS

You know that chap in Greek legend whose punishment from the gods was to push a massive rock up a hill, and every time he got near the top it rolled back down to the bottom?
That's Cardiff City that is.

Best amend that analogy to that of a dung beetle.

The tactics were wrong
The players were crap.
If I had to put my finger on who’s to blame more, probably SM

Re: CARDIFF CITY v SWANSEA CITY. Match thread
My ten pence for what it is worth - although much has been said already:
I can't say that there was a lack of effort on the player's part - the tactics were wrong - hindsight is wonderful, but I would have started with Davies for Harris and Colwill for ????. I would have preferred to get on the front foot and in charge and bring others on later. As it was we simply gave them too much latitude in the hope of a break.
There were often times when there was a back five.....too easily cut open. The goals were bad - first one Flint should have intercepted. Second one a player left completely unmarked just outside the D from a corner. Third, Perry Ng (as has often been said) is not the greatest in the air, and should have cleared for a corner. Possibly only the final goal was a 'decent' goal.
As for player ratings - not quite sure why Smithies is getting grief - he could not do anything with the goals and was ok I thought. Of the others, Drameh, Davies and Colwill showed passion and some nuance.
I suppose one claim to fame we still have is the record score in a game (City 5 Swansea 0, 6th April 1965) - was fortunate enough to be at that game!!
The other consolation is that whoever is manager next season, the team talk is done......just show them yesterday's video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYUY_vrXcd8
Do we condemn SM on this one game? Certainly he shows crassness in some of his remarks - maybe this will be a lesson learnt on his managerial road. For the moment I am still supportive.

I agree with this, it's not the "lack of pashun and desire" that I've heard a few times since the game, they players definitely wanted it, it was a tactical beating

Not gonna lie, the moment it seemed we were safe from relegation I stopped giving much of a f*** about this season. :hehe:
Both Cardiff and Swansea are in the wrong half of the table, both rebuilding, both have owners half the fanbase hate. Yesterday's game literally had sod all of importance riding on it, we lost, big whoops, worse things happen at sea etc.
If they want to let a derby win paper over paper over the cracks then that's their prerogative. Cardiff got a cold, sharp shock that might actually prove more useful in the long run considering where we are. Every cloud has a silver lining, and all that...

Still can't process it. I will say that Hughill put in a shift but didn't get the rub of the green, Ralls did not have a good game. Flint made mistakes. That's all I've got. I'm not watching it again or even looking at "highlights". I'm not particularly a fan of passion. These are professional men paid to do a job. I'm ambivalent about the manager telling them it's just another game. Right ot wrong? I don't know.

Exactly, Swansea were streets ahead of us tactically yesterday. Even the little things like throw ins were far better than anything we did

So many it was bloody obvious we didn't have a ****ing clue what to do with them. It is so frustrating that we've turned our biggest threat into a glaring weakness.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 4 SWANSEA CITY. Match thread
I think we can all agree that the Jacks are a better footballing side than our lot. So when they are up against better footballers they have to work and fight harder. We had 2 bookings and 14 fouls which tells me there was no fight or passion. When we played them at the Liberty we only had 2 bookings. Get into them ffs.

Solved the problem, not going to bed, killing time before driving to Bristol Airport, early flight to get away from the doom & gloom:hehe:
