poor crowd 5-6k
Sky and S4C
Dan James 1-0
great counter attack and finish
I'm starting to think that James is far, far better than I realized
Jonny Williams looking quality
How is he only 25
I've come to the match despite it being £20 for a ticket, which is a bit pricy for a friendly against Belarus. There's a decent atmosphere here in the Ninian though.
Wales are playing pretty well, I've been impressed by Morrell, especially given that I'd never heard of him prior to last Friday. Joniesta is doing ok but contrary to the perceived wisdom, he gives the ball away a lot. Attempting to dribble past 2 or 3 players each time he gets possession will result in losing the ball regularly. He needs a new song.
Slovakia beating Hungary at HT is another good score for us
Bale on
Dominant 2nd half display so far
I'd like to contest the idea that Johnny Williams "never gives the ball away"
Blimey, what an atrocious miss by Bale
Should be 3-0, will probably end up 1-1
Rodon has been excellent
Carbon copy of Friday, midfield endlessly giving the ball away! We have the tools but no idea how to use them! We've never had so much pace but play with the hand brake on.
Been impressed with Rodon in both games. Johnnie Williams and Joe Allen both had good games in the middle and how Belarus's number 8 didnt get 5 or 6 yellow cards I'll never know.
Ref was shocking.
Rodon was impressive, the Jacks have got some very good younger players
Wasn't quite a gigantic improvement from Friday but am feeling a lot more positive for it. A lot more energy going forward and it should have been at least 2 nil (will let Bale off after getting the winner from nothing on Friday).
With the group results yesterday there is no-one to fear in this group anymore. Let's hope Ramsey comes back to full fitness and see what happens in October :)
Didn't watch it all but seemed a slightly better balance.
Defended well, kept the ball well through the first two thirds but the final ball or shot often a let down. For as dominant as we were we didn't really trouble the keeper very much.
Better pressing.
I thought it was a good performance. Defended really well. Even in games we won under Coleman we always seemed to give up a few cheap chances where the defence would just switch off.
Pressing was good all over the pitch, attacked with a lot of pace. The only downside was the final ball /finishing,on another day a few more things come off.
In recent years, when missing Ramsey and starting without Bale we could easily have lost a game like that, but we were so much the better side it was like watching a game against a side from another division.
Although you have to question how much the opposition were up for it, as they were pretty poor
Agreed should have been held at Racecourse or even Newport or Swansea. Indeed both games were played in front of embarrassing small crowds when compared to Wales Rugby Internationals who pull in at least 60k for friendlies and Full houses 74k+! Evening Kick offs for Football Internationals doesn’t help, especially weekdays ?
What these 2 games have shown, is that the main man is Aaron Ramsey and not Bale.
The team need Aaron, I honestly believe that if he’d played against Portugal in the Euro’s, we would have won
