If Scotland win, to not rely on other results, Ireland would need to win by 3 goals tomorrow night.

As it stands we now need a win, to get above Greece. Even if Slovenia equalise & Slovakia move into 2nd, we'll still need to win as Slovakia have a +5 goal difference.
Ukraine v Croatia get your calculator out.
Looking like a draw won't be enough though.

I read it on the Irish forum earlier. They're all saying if Scotland win then they would need a win and Ukraine-Croatia to be a draw or win by more than 3 goals. I can't be bothered checking all the permutations myself but that's what they're all saying.Quote:

Basically we're currently above Croatia so if we have the same draw result we're into the play-offs. As we have same goal difference though we're only currently ahead on goals scored, so if they have a higher scoring draw they could catch us.Quote:

I think I'd rather we went into tomorrow night knowing we HAVE to win and that's that. It's always been that we needed to win the last four games and we have achieved three of the four, and I doubt the management and the squad will have changed in their approach.
As said above, a Georgia draw in Serbia is a very real possibility, so we could even do away with the need for a Play Off, provided we get those precious three points tomorrow.
