Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
I don’t see why people are up in arms about his outburst
“What that special place in hell looks like for those who promoted Brexit, without even a sketch of a plan how to carry it out safely”
What’s wrong with that? At the moment in a month we will be cut out of any of the eu intelligence and tracking of criminals and terrorists unless we negotiate a deal, is that the sort of safety people want?
-
Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
What does the second link have anything to do with the 1st?
Tusk is right, irrespective of whether you voted in or out you should be pissed off that the government didn't have a plan to deal with the outcome. It was completely irresponsible and unforgivable.
-
Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Igovener, could you explain to me why you’re desperate to leave the EU? And why those 2 links you posted have pissed you off? Please
-
Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
The OP is the exact sort of person the media can whip into a frenzy with their propaganda. And the archetypal brexitier.
-
Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Tusk is unelected. If you want to get rid of him you can't through the ballot box as in a normal democracy. Fundamentally the EU is undemocratic in the sense that no voters in any single country can have any say in the EU's plans, policies or unelected people like Tusk. All Tusk wants to do is keep his comfortable and cosy club intact and is affronted by the audacity of the UK voting to leave. When Tusk meets May he will be all sweetness and light but as soon as she is out of earshot disrespect her - and accordingly the UK. He is impolite at best.

Ah! but out means out, don’t you know🤪🤪🤪🤪 the Brexiteers have created one of the biggest shitstorms this country’s ever witnessed, barring war. In my 60s so limited impact on me I hope, but what the future holds, Christ knows?

An y chance this thread could be moved to the politics forum?

People don’t want to hear it but unless some serious negotiation happens in the next month this country is going to be in a state for quite a while.
I dread to think the effect this is going to have on South Wales and the Valleys.

How’s he disrespected the UK? Tusk is sticking up for the citizens of the U.K. surely?
Tusk is a known Anglophile ffs, he doesn’t hate the U.K. he loves it.

Unelected you say.
Just like the scores of civil servants working on the Brexit deal.
-
Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Donald Tusk is President of the European Council and was elected to that post by the European Council who consist of the Leaders of all of the member states, who were elected by the general population of each country.
Jean Claude Juncker is the President of the European Commission and was elected by the MEPs, who were elected by the general population of each country.
So tell me again how these people are unelected?

The English have their Queen, the House of Lords and their State religion - none of them are elected are they ?

Are you thinking that the UK would not be able to monitor its own deplorables, or will not be able to monitor any deplorables over the water? I would guess that MI5/MI6 are some of the most revered intelligence experts in the world, and that capability of GCHQ is second to none, they and it were good enough to monitor the other mad Donald.

Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
These right wing Tories are such snowflakes. The compare the EU to Nazis or Stalinists or as the enemy and yet when they get a bit back they get all uppity. Tusk is right so **** them.

I think you don’t understand it at all tbh pal, we rely on that data massively and won’t be able to access it.

Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Tusk sounds like a man rattled ,when someone reverts to insults or name calling it's usually seen as a sign they are losing the debate ,see lots of this on this board, folk just get nasty when cornered . I'm sure the Brexiteers will respond and Jeremy (gosh why pick on JC he's been very quiet throughout out this deal, keeping himself to himself ,staying away from divisions and discussion on the matter ,bloody European bully boys )

I’d say he’s every right to be irritated with a government that agreed to a withdrawal agreement then decided to seek alternative arrangements
(Whatever the hell that means)
As for the Brexiters responding it was the usual Ill inforned, resorting to cliches and lots of coverage of their faux outrage.
They still haven’t come up with a plan either.

Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Typical remainers spouting info that is not true, lets carry on letting criminals and terrorists into this country, and tell everyone that it is going to be a disaster when we come out, we voted by a majority to come out, all you remainers get over it, bunch of sore losers who are throwing their toys out of their prams!

You'll have to ask Crossy, he's got his finger on the pulse with this one although i not sure considered F eyes with his analysis, I thought that the UK was one of the net contributors to intelligence gathering, I was obviously mistaken. Interpol/Europol is where its at now.
Donald #2 does sound a bit bizarre, if I had been on mars for the past two years and this was the 1st bit of news on returning home I'd swear he's a brexiteer, he's done more for the leave campaign in one sentence than the rest of them put together over two years, I was hedging for a 2nd vote last night but thinking it would go the same way, after his outburst today I think it would be an increased majority. More importantly when is the porn video of AOC being released :hehe:

Or just sensible people who don’t want to see the economy tank because of a load of bullshit spouted on the side of a red bus.

The UK, US, Canada, Australia and NZ operate an integrated system.

US elections suggested that the UK along with their fives eyes partners are sub servient to the alphabet agencies of the US.
Head of GCHQ stepped down immediately with the Trump inauguration. If he does declass FISA, I don't think the UK will
come out smelling of roses. Maybe even her Maj will have a bit of explaining to do.

They refused to pay their taxes and fought the crown, they were a combined 5 years late entering the world wars and they were said by some to be going to wipe us off the face of the earth to stop the Russians using Blighty as an airbase during the cold war if the Red Army reached the English channel.
We should play them but not trust them and not give them certain secrets.

Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Whatever side of the debate you are on it is fair to say that the referendum did not clearly state the nature of any version of Brexit was to be voted on and, if anything less than a hard Brexit could be agreed upon, as to whether any version would have been acceptable to the EU. Not only are the proponents of Brexit split in what they want but also as to whether what they want is attainable. As a result we are indeed in an unholy mess at the moment.

Thank goodness that there are no Welsh people in the House of Lords or who are members of the religion that the Queen is head of.

A country who has unelected decision makers, a state religion and a monarchy could be said to be more akin to medieval times than the present day.

I am an anti-royalist, atheist who doesn't support unelected politicians - but do I detect a "Welsh = good, English = bad" in your recent posts?
-
Re: So you want to stay in the EU?
Good for you Genie and there is nothing wrong with the occupied territories [wink], but with them making up the largest block of the UK if their policies impact on us they need to be called out on such policies.

Do you think that people in Cornwall, Newcastle, Cumbria, Stoke, Shrewsbury and/or Norfolk are all part of the ruling English block? Or is your beef really about the centralisation of wealth in the South East (a criticism made in many other countries regarding their capital cities and the areas where more wealth is accumulated)?
