Season tickets out Wednesday
Good pricing but no refunds for games played behind closed doors, or any student tickets
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
We will be ready , during lockdown, I've freshly ironed and prepared all my Stone Island gear in readiness .
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
No refunds for any games played behind closed doors. Can’t see there being a massive uptake when even the most optimistic outlook is that they’ll hopefully get some fans back in by October at the earliest.
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
Can anyone remember what the season ticket credit amount was or how we find out the amount?
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
Weren't we meant to get a discount off next season's ticket if we chose option 1 after lockdown?

And option 2, option 1 was the Academy donation, option 2 was the no refund, both with discounts off the next season ticket and a code for the remaining games of this season. Option 3 was shot at dawn.

Problem with that is Wales are being more cautious than England with getting things back to"normal" . If England are allowed back in October for example then Wales likely won't allow fans into stadiums until November/December time. Can't see many fans taking up offer if club won't refund partial games if playing behind closed doors

Theoretically, you could pay £329 for a season ticket and get to see no games whatsoever, and be entitled to nothing back.

exactly, I think the club need to rethink that,as can't see many taking up the offer, they should either refund on pro rata or at least give you credit towards season after or credit towards club shop.
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
At least you could watch the games on live stream. I'd pay to keep that service going for away games.
-

When does the season start?

The biggest omission from the statement is ‘social distancing’.
The ground may reopen but there could be an insistence on every other seat and or row being empty.
It would be a nightmare to sort and to police.
In that event fans may not wish to go and therefore the lack of a refund would be an issue.
The Q&A says no refund. Alternative seats would be allocated.

Poor from the club imo.
At this stage it's a no from me.

You're not doing a very good job of selling this to me! All joking aside, it's crazy that we could pay out hundreds of pounds of our hard earned cash and not get to see any games! Might need a rethink by the Club I reckon! Surely for the games that we can't physically attend either because of behind closed doors or a reduced capacity there should be a reduction for the following season?

Would any of this be legal?
Even with a £10 streaming voucher, that would equate to £230 if every game was behind closed doors. A family of 4 may spend about £800 on season tickets, and need only one stream.
What happens if there is a cup tie at home. Does the club charge £20 so we can have a £10 streaming voucher?
It is crap.

Not confirmed yet. Sep 12th is the suggested date.

Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
I'd expect any streaming alternative would also include away games. The issue is if we got into the premier league would it include the games on Sky or BT (which I don't subscribe to).

I took the price of my season ticket and divided it by 23 (the number of home games) and then multiplied that figure by 5 (the number of home games behind closed doors) the figure i got would be the discount i get off next seasons ticket. Am I right?
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
The early discount ends about 3 hrs before kick off in the championship play off final...
I suspect prices may creep up the next day if we are successful.

The FAQs say only home games.

It's a no for me after a ST for every season since the bob bank was seated. Appreciate the club - like the rest of them - are in a difficult position but it's a glorified TV pass..

they wont be worried about fans until the six nations is due to start

Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
I understand that City are looking to play home games at Ashton Gate if the regulations in Wales won't allow such things when the season starts.

Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
I am one unhappy bunny and I’ve contacted ‘um, to tell ‘um that.
How can they take your money, THEN NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE, THAT MONEY IS FOR. !!!!!
Absolutely ridiculous !!!!!!!
It’s equivalent to buying something off Amazon, then being told the item is out of stock, oh, and you can’t have your money back, by the way .

It's not though is it. It's the equivalent of trying to buy something off Amazon, Amazon then emailing you and saying "ok before we take your money you should know that this is out of stock, we'll try and get it back in stock but it's out of our hands. There will be no refunds if we can't get it back in stock but we will send you a version that still works fine but doesn't contain all the features of the original item, now do you still want to buy?"

Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
For several reasons I'd decided before covid that I wasn't buying a season ticket anyway for next season.
Based on the current offering, theres nothing that's making me regret my decision.

Not if we got promotion. I believe that the PL don't allow iPlayer.
Can't see much uptake TBH.

I'm gonna buy one. Looks like the new srand will be open to help with social distancing, I love it up there!
All clubs in every league are going to be in the same position, they don't know what is going to happen next flu season, I am sure we will get something back in the form of a voucher/refund if a lot of games were played behind closed doors/cancelled.
I can't see all clubs saying "screw you" to the fans... imagine the mess that would create? It would be the end of fans in stadiums! If one club offers refunds or something similar there will be huge pressure on other clubs to follow suit.
I can't bloody wait to get back in there!!
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
They’ve already said there won’t be a refund if games are played behind closed doors. Could open up in October, maybe January maybe not at all for season 20/21 - nobody knows.
Would have made more sense putting tickets on sale when guaranteed crowds are allowed in and pay for games were actually going to watch. This scenario now puts people in a predicament.

Yes should just release when have a date we can go back or even if they credit us game by game city cash or credit towards season after rather than saying tough shit if it's behind closed doors

THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ST THE MOMENT

Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
I can't see the incentive of renewing if you are a ST holder that rarely goes away. You may lose your seat for a short while but in reality the seating arrangements are going to be a bit "different" next season anyway and people may be more spread out etc.
It seems the only reason to renew in the next month would be to keep your away "credits" should away games become available again - not a great way to treat the people who go home and away - renew or your back to square one. Ps no refund if we can't get you in the ground.
Surely a more sensible approach would be to offer a similar reduction for the 21/22 season depending on how many games are behind closed doors next season.

Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
So you're saying Cardiff City have fecked up when it come to ticketing and marketing?
I, for one, am shocked. Shocked!
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
I'm buying 3 seats so I can impose my own 2 meter distancing by sitting inn the middle seat and have space either side , see you all there with your little pick and shovels , city till we die
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
I think I'm going to wait and get a half season ticket at the second half of the season and just pay for match passes up until then
-
Re: Season tickets out Wednesday
There will have to be a credit for games with no or limited admission for anyone to even think about this. It’s like saying you can buy a holiday but if we can’t take you, we’ll send you a photo of the beach instead. The point some are making about WG is understandable but very unlikely. WG will follow England on professional sport/stadium admission, I am certain.

...and when a match is played behind closed doors you'll get 3 match passes to watch it online at home.
