Guess we will, but with no optimism. Following CCFC is like a drug. Just can't kick the habit.

Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Better had prepare for a humiliating "double" over us this season again, methinks.
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Right, positives for Sunday:
* Kipre didn't get booked at QPR so isn't suspended
* Hudson played in the fixture so at least understands what it means to us
* Their defence is the 5th worst in the division
* We are due a huge slice of luck after the refereeing decisions in our last 2 games
That's all I can come up with. I tried.

Football is a simple game, pick your best eleven and stop tinkering

And Mark Hudson’s brother is one of the linos.

But their ex manager’s brother has the whistle:frown:

Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
David Prutton predicting a 2-0 win for Swansea while saying we need to "get a move on" and appoint a new manager, thereby proving he does not know our club that well.
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I’d settle for 2-0, a moral victory.
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Elis James FOF, both Iwan & Danny both predicted a Swans win (don't need to be a genius on that front), but Danny echoing what most of us are saying, Cardiff needs to show a bit of fight and spirit.
Aside from that, brilliant interview from Mark Evans this week well worth a listen :wales:

Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
4-0 Swansea is all I can see. We fight early on, their pressure pays off and then we capitulate. I’d love to be more confident but we’ve got no chance

We have to go at them , close them down and test their defence instead of sitting back like previous games

Agreed mate, we’ve nothing to lose, may as well go down swinging.

Definitely need to press a lot higher and better than last season. If we get at them, and don’t let them play, we have a chance
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The headless chicken approach would be better than last year’s stand off.

I think we'll get a goal, their defence can be very suspect at times.
The problem is, I can see them dominating areas of the pitch.
I also see another red, coming from an over zealous Joe Ralls.
4-1
Hope I'm entirely wrong!

If we set up to defend for 90 minutes we'll be asking for trouble by inviting them to attack, I'd sooner we played on the front foot and went for it, than meekly getting picked off, a draw will do
Whatever happens let's hope we have learned from the embarrassment of the last time we played them
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We have to attack and press high.
We forced Blackburn into mistake after mistake and their back 5 really isnt that good.
I think we are going to pull off a win.

I think Swansea will be expecting us to set up defensively. If, as you say, we go for it, I think it will surprise them and undo their approach to the game... I hope!

Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Match facts
- Swansea won both league meetings with rivals Cardiff last season – they have never beaten them three times in a row in the Football League.
- Cardiff have lost four of their last six league visits to Swansea, winning the other two 1-0 in each of the 2010-11 and 2020-21 seasons.
- Swansea have won six of their last eight league games, including each of the last three at home; the Swans could win four on the bounce at home for the first time since October 2021.
- Cardiff have failed to win any of their last three Championship away games on a Sunday (D1 L2), with one of those defeats coming against Swansea last season (0-3).
- Swansea’s Harry Darling has scored in each of his last two league games against Sunderland and Reading, while he’s only scored in three successive league games once before in July, netting on his debut for the Swans and in his last two league games for MK Dons the season prior.

Yep. Their defence hasn't been good this season. They've won 5 out of their last 6 but they've conceded 10.

Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Sounds like a section of their fans are an embarrassment to their club.
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
A must win game, due to points? Otherwise.. serious time to consider a real manager?
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Like many others finding it hard to get excited about this one
I’m saying 3-0
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Good luck City.
Think we'll need it.
2-1 Jacks
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Difficult to see us getting anything out of this - we are drifting towards that whirlpool.
I’m not sure I have the fortitude to watch it.
-
Re: SWANSEA CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The nerves will be there at kick off but nothing like it once was.
Just get stuck into them City. You might surprise yourselves.
