I don’t think so, she’s from London and is not listed in notable people from Penarth

I agree, it was classic.
Although strictly speaking Ali got that one wrong, it should really have been played vs QPR as Steptoe's yard was in Shepherds Bush.

My 1st ever game at NP was against Blackburn Rovers. It ended in a Desmond. Always remember this playing at half time, and Derek Fazackally (spelling) for Rovers. Just because of his strange surname.

This seemed to be the ONLY record played in the 1970-71 season.

I was going to say this. But I’m sure it was around in the late 80’s, and yes we were shite.

Definitely mid 90s, but that isn't to say it was used in the 80s. We were shite for most of that period, of course. I think it was played right up until Russell Osman took over. I am sure it was he who foisted Bryan Adams upon us as the run-out music.
But I associate shit football at Ninian Park with that song. It was an absolutely brilliant time to be a City fan. (or it could just be that I was a kid/teenager and being a kid/teenager is absolutely brilliant.)
Re: What music do you associate with 'going down the City'?
Back in the early 80's, they always played ' Love is the drug ' about 10 mins before kick off. It was usually at the time when 3 or 4 of us would be trying to squeeze through the turnstile on one click ......looking back, this was daft on my part as i had a Season Ticket !
