He's been on the European tour for about five years, but hasn't done much tbf, a couple of wins but nothing really to shout about. "journeyman" is probably a bit harsh, but certainly relatively low profile, similar to Danny Willet before he won the masters. Unless you are particularly interested in golf, it's easy to see how he'd appear to be unknown.
