Would City benefit from having our wide players tuck in?
A 4321 rather than a 433 where’s they hug the touch line and seem ineffective and leave the striker all alone.
Surely the pace of players like NML being more central would be a bigger threat? Hoilett would get more shooting opportunities!? Murphy wouldn’t have 6 men to beat and run the ball out of play (because he’s got **** all support)
The 433 does us no favours and the 442 against passing teams will, as we have seen, not really work...

Na, I think they’re fat enough
Re: Would City benefit from having our wide players tuck in?
As long as we have two very average full backs (and a manager who will not allow the keeper to feed them) then the service to our wingers is mainly reliant on it bouncing off the side of someone head from long balls.
Which is why I dont understand Warnock's insistence on two wingers?

It could only work with overlapping full backs. That'll never happen with Warnock in charge
Re: Would City benefit from having our wide players tuck in?
In the short term, why not? Playing with two wide men and one striker is hardly a goal feast.

They offer nothing out wide, nothing whatsoever. It’s frustrating.

That was my first thought when I read it. They'll end up as fat as Tomlin!
Re: Would City benefit from having our wide players tuck in?
But they do come inside. It's quite rare for them to go to the corner and cross it from there.

Not what I’m asking.

It wouldn't work, our wingers aren't technical enough to play in the middle, particularly Mendez-Laing. Its a good thing he's quick because his first touch is one of the worst I've seen

Yes. His pace makes up for his appalling touch.
