They always choose dumps to be cities of culture as that is seen as a way of regenerating poor areas. Swansea is ripe for investment and that is why they have been nominated.

Stoke and Coventry 2 of the worst, uglisest and most depressing places I've ever visited. Can't imagine Sunderland or Paisley much better either! Not saying Swansea fits in well with them :shrug: but is this like one of those awards they give out to the chubby kid at under 11's football for 'best improved' or 'best tryer'?
