I think a big reason was a severe illness suffered by their owner & player sales followed which were initiated by Barnsley to ensure that the club was less financially reliant on him. In fairness the players who left (like Mawson, Hourihane & Bree) would undoubtedly have received significant pay increases so both parties benefited financially.Quote:
